SUDPLAN Common services offer climate scenario downscaling of three types. The concept of downscaling has different meaning for each of those, but what they have in common is that the user provides local data that improves the output quality of the model simulation, as driven by a selected climate scenario.

- Rainfall/precipitation: The temporal resolution will be 30 minutes or less. The spatial resolution will be that of a precipitation gauge, i.e. representative for a point rather than a certain area.
- Hydrological variables: The temporal resolution is daily and the spatial resolution linked to catchment areas which presently over all Europe count approximately 35000 and with average size 240 km2.
- Air quality: The temporal resolution will be hourly for gridded output fields and the spatial resolution typically 1x1 kilometers.
SUDPLAN Common Services downscaling require input data from the Pan-European scale and also this data can be visualized and exported from the SUDPLAN user interface.
